Book Club @ This Grand Life goes all Fifty Shades of Grey

Hurrah, its book club week.  As a self-confessed bibliophile (http://www.thisgrandlife.com.au/whos-your-tribe-meet-the-converse-wearing-sports-obsessed-bibliophiles-aka-my-family/) with bookshelves heaving with literary treasures at home (http://www.thisgrandlife.com.au/what-we-are-reading-brilliant-books-recommended-by-the-this-grand-life-tribe/), being part of book club is definitely my cup of tea. Though somewhat of an interloping latecomer to my book club, I love the whole premise of a book club.

Reading books you wouldn’t normally chose, having an intelligent discussion about your thoughts and experiences, all laced with a good dose of gossip and the occasional glass of wine.

This week though is, well, interesting.  The book chosen (by a very democratic process of group emails/discussions/polite objections/gossip) is eek, the dreaded/lauded Fifty Shades of Grey.

A book that seems to fall squarely into the love/hate category.

A book that I have steadfastly refused to read.

A book which I am pretty sure every woman between the ages of 18 and 80 has read/heard of/been given as a gift.

A book that I will be buying tonight, and uploading to my Kindle (yes too embarassed to tote that racy cover around).

Why?

Well, because its the book chosen for this month and I respect these ladies and if one choses Fifty Shades of Something , it must be for a good reason.

I hope!

Are you a member of a book club? Have you read Fifty Shades of Grey? Did you love or hate it?

Enjoy xx
